Delete your Settle: Baby Names account

This page explains how to permanently delete your Settle: Baby Names account (package com.settlebabynames) and the data associated with it. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
How to request deletion
The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the app:
- Open Settle: Baby Names.
- Tap the gear icon in the top-right header to open Settings.
- Scroll to Delete account.
- Tap Delete my account, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete account.
Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out on every device.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, in a single database transaction we permanently remove:
- Your account record — your email address, Google account ID, filter preferences, daily swipe-limit counters, and your subscription-status mirror. We never store your card or payment details, so there is nothing of that kind to delete.
- Your sign-in sessions — every signed-in device is logged out.
- Your swipes — all of your approvals, rejections, superlikes, and unseen-queue entries.
If you are not linked with a partner (a solo couple), we also delete everything else tied to your couple: the custom names you added, your match rankings, and the empty couple record itself.
What is kept if you are linked with a partner
If you delete your account while linked with a partner, your partner keeps their own account and data. We delete your account, sessions, and swipes as above, but we do not delete data that belongs to or is shared with your partner:
- Your partner's account, sign-in, and swipes are untouched.
- The custom names you added together stay with your partner. These names are shared by the couple and carry no separate per-person ownership, so deleting them would destroy your partner's data.
- The couple record remains, because your partner is still in it.
Shared matches that depended on your approval disappear from both of you, because a match requires approvals from both partners.
Retention period
Your live account data is deleted immediately when you confirm — it is removed in one transaction, with no grace period for the active records.
Copies of your data may remain in routine encrypted database backups for up to 24 hours before those backups are rotated out, after which no copy remains.
